build pages/cabinets/bench seats
The conversion has two rear bench seats over the rear wheel housings and a table between the seats. The seats are made with 80/20 extrusions with a 15/32" cherry plywood seat top and removable 7/32" cherry plywood panels on the front face. The seat tops, seat backs and the front panels can be removed for access. Used 5/16-18NC flathead screws on the seat top and button head screws on the front panels.
The driver side seat enclosed the house electrical system. A 8D Lifeline AGM battery is installed in front of the wheel housing and the Magnum inverter/charger/transfer switch is mounted above the wheel housing. The 12 volt disconnect switch, shunt, fuse and positive and negative bus bars are located above the battery and under the seat top. The rear space behind the wheel housing is used for storage. There is a screened opening in the center face panel for cooling air circulation for the inverter.
The passenger side seat encloses the 23 gallon fresh water tank and the electric baseboard air heater. The rear space behind the wheel housing is used for storage. There is a screened opening in the center face panel for the Broan 120 volt AC 750 watt model # 124 baseboard air heater.
The removable plywood seat tops are supported by three 80/20 extrusions bolted between the cabinet front face top extrusion and the van wall. Used existing Transit wall holes to install 1/4-20NC plus nuts to anchor the seat supports to the van walls. The seat backs are also made with 80/20 supports with 15/32" cherry plywood bolted to the 80/20 vertical extrusions. The bed platform hinged panels are bolted to the top slot of the horizontal seat back extrusion.
